Here is the most recent picture quilt I finally completed. I won a prize at the Pacific Patchwork Guild but I forget the category it won in, HA!. The material above it the material I chose when I had to grab into a paper bag without seeing the material I was grabbing to participate in the "Ugly material" Quilt challenge. It seemed to be liked pretty well. It was not really one of my better ones because I really didn't like this material, too busy and overwhelming in garish colors. I have it now hanging in my stairway going up to my studio, may give it away in the future, but for now I'm working on getting used to it. I am pleased how the photo came out.

ReplyDeleteI think if you look at this with a fresh eye as I have, you'll see that the material is beautifully harmonious and with this small photo you can see that so well. Look how the color flows and how beautiful the design is.
It's hard for artists to see the beauty in their work if they have already found something that they personally don't like and I am exactly the same way.
It's really beautiful. Seriously :D
